One of the great unreported stories in the homosexual movement is the persecution experienced by men and women who have left the homosexual lifestyle. Homosexual activists demand special rights for their sexual behavior, but deny the rights of those who have decided to return to their heterosexual lifestyle.
The organization, Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays, continues to fight for protections for ex-gays. Last week they were handed a significant legal victory by the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. The court ruled that "former homosexuals are a protected class that must be recognized under sexual orientation non-discrimination laws."
The National Education Association discriminated against ex-homosexuals by failing to allow them to participate in aspects of their organization, including the NEA Sexual Orientation Committee. The D.C. Office of Human Rights (OHR) sided with the NEA that ex-gays do not deserve the same protections as practicing homosexuals. The D.C. court, however, found that ex-gays are a protected class because under their human rights laws, sexual orientation does not require immutable characteristics.

I believe we should give Former Homosexuals our full institutional. However, I must admit I feel somewhat uneasy about embracing them closely and entirely, there is sometimes an air of failure and sin about them. I don't mean to cast asperions but clearly we are uncomfortable with gays teaching young children in schools, I would be equally fearful of ex-homosexuals in close private proximity to children.
